gtranscribe software package provides simple GTK+ tool focussed on easy transcription of spoken words, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gtranscribe
gtranscribe is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gtranscribe package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gtranscribe *
You will get with gtranscribe package name, version, architecture and description in a table
